RP1’s 3D Browser

Date: May 7, 2025
Time: 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. PDT
The Network Requirements and Capabilities Working Group is pleased to host Sean Mann from RP1 for a historical demo of the world’s first 3D browser!
RP1’s 3D Browser will do for spatial computing what the web browser did for the World Wide Web. Metaverse application developers, who aim to deliver real-time immersive services for travel, entertainment, or commerce in virtual worlds, must overcome limitations in scalability, responsiveness, and interoperability. User experience challenges often arise from fragmented infrastructure, outdated protocols, or the inability to synchronize persistent 3D services at scale. To make this possible, RP1 has solved some of the most difficult technical challenges in real-time computing—demonstrating three key breakthroughs: a Statabase that delivers full spatial audio and 6DOF for unlimited ‘unsharded’ users using 1000x less hardware, like ICANN for websites – unlimited volumetric space including a real-time streamed digital twin of our solar system (including a 1:1 Earth), and MVMF—a real-time API framework that allows any 3rd party service on any hardware to be discovered and connected by the 3D browser. The 3D browser will enable AR glasses to stream on demand 3rd party services while walking around the world giving full ownership to each company/individual, or connecting to a fully persistent metaverse of unlimited virtual worlds, stores, universities, and games. The browser connects the real world with any virtual experience enabling anyone to join people in real life and share the experience.
